Simon and Mo’s Wedding 12/08/2006

The big day arrived and sadly the weather wasn’t with us! God did it pour!! Ed looked after Abigail while I was thoroughly pampered in the morning with a hair cut and styling and then make up done!! Came home to get ready and to get Abigail packed as she was off after the wedding for her sleepover with Nana Hils, Granddad Simon, Aunty Lillie and Aunty Emily while Ed and I went to the reception as children were not invited. We had a lovely time at the Cathedral and Abigail was really well behaved except she did two poo’s!! I was getting really worked up as it was the first time that we’d left Abigail with anyone over night!
The meal was gorgeous and we even had a few dances but by 10pm I was so tired we left and went to bed! It was so nice not to be woken up throughout the night but I still woke up!! L Imagining I could hear her crying. Boy was I glad to go and pick her up in the morning! But apparently she had been SO good and not missed us at all!! L
Annoyingly our camera ran out of battery after taking a few photos at home so there aren’t many photos I’m afraid!

Clinic 09/08/2006

While we were away Abigail really loved her solids and really got the hang of them so going to 3 meals a day!! So we were really excited after 3 weeks to get Abigail weighed! We were shocked to find out she was 16lb 5oz!! Our little chubster! Oh and we’re finally in 3-6 months clothes!!!

France 24/07/2006- 04/08/2006

Wow so long since I’ve updated and we’ve done so much – just haven’t had time to update so I am afraid I am updating about a month in a day

We went on a family holiday to Boudeilles sth France. Mum, Steve, Ed, I, Abigail, Harry, Becky and Margaret Steve’s mum to stay with Steve’s Aunt and Uncle who live in Boudeilles. We decided to do the driving over 2 days as otherwise it wouldn’t be fair on Abigail being stuck in her car seat ( boy am I glad we did!!)
We didn’t arrive at the hotel to stop over at until 12.30am!! Poor Abigail didn’t know if it was day or night but she settled really well!
The next day was slightly better and we didn’t get so lost and arrived in Boudeilles at around 5pm and stopped to ring Rick Steve’s uncle to ask for him to come get us (we had planned and arranged with him that we would get to the town of Boudeilles and ring him and he would come and meet us and we would follow him to his farm house. I don’t think you can really call Boudeilles a town it consisted of a river and 2 shops!!) Anyway we couldn’t get through to Rick when we dialled the number some French operator and in our broken French we figured out she was trying to say that she couldn’t connect us!! Grrr After an hour my mum gave up and started walking up the road bearing it was 40 degrees outside we were NOT leaving the air conditioned car!!
Mum was trying in broken French to ask if anyone knew where this English couple lived and bumped into a woman speaking English! Well she nearly cried with happiness and this woman walked up the hill to where there was a signal and used her phone and rang Rick and he came and rescued us J
He showed us back to his house and we settled in.
Abigail decided that she didn’t like sleeping in her travel cot so decided to get up every 2 hours during the night!! (not much of a holiday for mummy and daddy)
Ed and I went canoeing with Becky and Harry the canoeing was very hard work and are some funny tales to tell the bruises have nearly gone now!! Poor Harry had the worst bruises and cuts!! Never knew canoeing could be so painful!!
Mum, Ed, Harry and I also had the once in a lifetime chance to go up in a microlite! It was amazing!! Very scary I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do it but did it and am SO glad I did!!
We did lots of swimming in the evening as it was just too hot to go outside in the middle of the day! Abigail loved swimming especially in her swimming chair! She has no fear of the water which is really good.
The second week the weather was not so good it rained a lot and was no where near as hot (but still shorts weather for us brits!! He he)
We went out for lots of lovely meals tasting the lovely French Cuisine and I tasted so many things I’d never have eaten in my life before and mum had Abigail for 2 hours one evening so Ed and I could go out for a nice meal – it was lovely being on out own with out the whole family although I wished we’d taken Abigail as there was a 5 month baby in the restaurant so I was feeling very left out without my little princess. We had a laugh when we found out after the meal that Ed had ordered eaten and liked snails! (I told him it was fish!! ;) )
The time went so quickly and it was time to load up the car and head of for our 2 days of travelling again to get home I was NOT looking forward to it. But after all it was nowhere near as bad we left Ricky and Pauline’s at around 10am and got to the hotel at about 5pm!! So had a nice relax and got to see the hotel in the day light! The second day when we got to the ferry it was delayed which was annoying as all there was at the port was a very smelly toilet and some chairs with a bar with tea in a plastic cup and baguettes that looked so crunchy I think I’d have broken all my teeth so we were very hungry and trying to keep Abigail amused – not so fun!
Once we were on the ferry and got a sandwich Abigail had a nice nap but the sea was very rough (hence the delay) and Steve took a turn for the worst and was very poorly in the loo with sea sickness.
We had a lovely clear trip back from Dover to a HUGE pile of washing. But it was worth it!!

A well over due catch up!! 04-07-2006

Oh dear how ashamed am I!! Thank-you for all your emails asking how we are and the ones for telling me to get my ass into gear and update my blog too!! To tell you the truth I think those were the ones that made me do just that!!
There are just not enough hours in the day you know!! I have been so busy with Abigail, me going into hospital, days
out and of course Ed's birthday!

This weather has been too hot for too many days out though! And has some what put a hold on my training!
Where to start argh :S hmm... ok

I went into have my colonscopy and stayed in longer than expected. I don't remember any of it my dr told me after that one of the IV drug they'd given me is the date rape drug!! Nice!!
Due to laying around from that I got a stonking chest infection! So my energy levels have been even lower than normal!

Ed's birthday was great it went down really well abigail laid on the bed saying da da da while he was opening his presents! It was so cute.

I hope everyone is ok and enjoying the nice weather, its 3 weeks today till we're off to france. I promise i'll update again before then!

06/06/06 The Beach

Well what a lovely day we've had. Alice Kate William Abigail and I went to Southend to the beach today it was the first time Abigail and William had been to the beach. It was so hot. We decided to go as Alice was home from Uni so she came over for a couple of days to help get ready for going into hospital this week and with the extra help we ventured for a day out!!

It was so hot I ended up getting really burnt even with factor 30 on!! I made sure Abigail didn't though!

We sat on the front eating chips and ice cream and Abigail ended up

eating lots of my icecream!! :) Abigail also had her first taste of sand!!

William is so much bigger than Abigail as you can see and he is only 5 days older!! Abigail also had her first experience of having her nappy changed in the car boot!!

The excitement of it all and Abigail fell asleep on the beach

It was so nice having the help of Alice with me. She was brilliant with Abigail!

I'm not looking forward to going into hospital tomorrow as I'm going to miss abigail SO SO much but i know she'll be fine she will be with Ed and my mum!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the lovely weather!!

Update 25/5/06

Hi all,

Well this week what has happened....

Monday after spending all of sunday night with one end on the toilet and the other over the sink and sleeping the rest of the night on the bathroom floor!! Ed stayed home to help look after abigail and manages to get me an appointment with my consultant as he was worried. I was given a course of cipro and some dioralite as i was dehydrated and refused point blank to go into hospital and have IV fluids. I have to go into hospital on the 8th June for a colonoscopy :S (a camera up my bum) to investigate what exactly is going on.

On wednesday I went to clinic to get Abigail weighed and she had lost weight!! 2oz but just before I put her on the scales while I was waiting she had a 5oz bottle so in my thinking that put an extra 5oz on her so it would have been 7oz!! I don't understand it :S But I hope she picks up next week!!

Thursday today I took abigail to town to get her picture taken for the baby of the year competition in the essex chronicle so we'll see how we go I go back on Tuesday to choose which picture to put in.

And in with everything else I have been doing I have been trying to go out walking to train for the hydro active challenge!! I hope you've all sponsered us now!! http://www.justgiving.com/emilysangels

I hope you're all well.

Ed's good news!!

I forgot to add, Ed went for an interview yesterday at Billericay school, he was there the whole day taught a lesson on African music and had an interview and they rang him in the evening and offered him the job!!!! out of 25 applicants he got it!! It is for a higher salery in a MUCH nicer area!!

So everything is going good - we just need to get in the flat now as Abigail is ready to go into her own room now! And although its been great to have mums support we are ready to move on now.

Hope you are all well

GOSH appt 15/5/06

I'm sorry for not posting sooner but I have been poorly and just looking after abigail - not having time to be on my comuter especially in the lovely weather we have been out in the garden!
Abigail had her appt at GOSH this morning - they arn't concerned with her, but are going to keep an eye on her and do some further tests as she is small for her age! But I am releived that there is nothing too serious from the outcome today. She is being closely monitered with her weight etc anyway by our health visitor who weighs her every week! She was 13lb 8oz last wed!!! We will be seen again on 30th June 06
I had my clinic appt last week and all wasn't too bad! I'm being refered to a stomach consultant about my problems there but overall they are pleased with me and we are hoping to reduce my prednisolone some more.
I am also going to run/walk/crawl the Womens Hydro Challenge this year 3rd Sept for the CF trust along with 50+ other angels all dressed up! Should be amusing!! Please sponser us here...
